| Upperdale - leading into Monsal Dale |
Little Longstone is the tiny neighbour
of Great Longstone, both situated in the heart of the
Peak District - the UK's oldest and most visited National Park. Close to the popular viaduct and dale at Monsal, Little Longstone is only a few minutes drive to the house and estate
at Chatsworth (voted Britain's favourite stately home),
the medieval splendour of Haddon Hall and Bakewell, home to the famous pudding and 'capital of the Peak'.
Superb walking country is available
straight from the front door of the cottage - the Monsal trail can be accessed in less than 10 minutes, Monsal Dale itself
in around 5 minutes and the fields below Longstone Edge leading onto Longstone Moor and beyond to Wardlow, Foolow
and Eyam, in less than 2 or 3 minutes.

| The unspoilt Packhorse Inn |
The neighbouring village of Great
Longstone is a 15 minute stroll across fields (3 minutes by car) and has 2 good pubs, an excellent old-fashioned
general store/newsagents and a good butcher's shop. The Crispin Inn serves traditional beers and good food
7 days a week whilst the White Lion is currently open 6 days serving food and Robinson's beers (at the time
of writing - Feb 2008).
Further afield but still within 10 minutes by car, the large village
of Bakewell offers several good restaurants, a good hotel, half a dozen pubs and loads of coffee shops and 'original' Bakewell
pudding establishments! Not forgetting the lovely river Wye that runs through its centre and the ancient cattle market
each Monday. The annual show at Bakewell takes place every August and is one of the largest country shows in the country.
